Health Desk – 28 Mar, 2021: Hasina urges ruling party leaders and activists to prepare to help the general people again like last year

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the government again may have to issue different health safety measures soon, like it did last year, as Covid-19 cases caused by new variants are rising.

“We don’t know how long the pandemic will last, so all of us will have to prepare for it accordingly,” she said on Sunday.

She also urged the ruling party leaders and activists to prepare to help the general people again like last year after the pandemic started, as infections around the country are again climbing every day.

And under the circumstances, educational institutions across the nation will reopen after the Eid-ul-Fitr, added the premier, while addressing a discussion organized by the Awami League in Dhaka marking 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence.

Hasina, also the president of the ruling party, joined the event virtually from Ganabhaban while top Awami League leaders attended it at the party’s Bangabandhu Avenue office in Gulistan.
