Health Desk – 18 April, 2021: A total of 12,157 people were administered first dose of COVID-19 vaccines Saturday while 22,16,16 received second dose across the country during the same period.
Among the vaccine recipients of the first dose, 7,666 were male and 4,491 female while among the second dose receivers, 14,33,03 were male and 78,313 were female, according to the data of Management Information System of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
As of April 17, the number of vaccine receivers of the first dose was 56,99,042. Of them, 35,33,655 are male and 21,65,387 female. Besides, a total of 11,51,767 people received the second dose of the vaccine. Of them, 78,07,59 are male and 37,10,08 female as the countrywide vaccination campaign was launched on February 7.
People aged 40 years and above now can get registered to receive COVID- 19 vaccines, the health ministry sources said.
