Health Desk-- 15th June, 2018: During Eid holidays, patients across the country will get health care services from public and private hospitals both in districts and in the capital, under special arrangements.
Additional director general (admin) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Nasima Sultana told the journalists, “Emergency units of tertiary hospitals to upazila health complexes will remain open during Eid holidays while outdoor services will remain almost closed.”
An official of the DGHS in this connection said all the directors and authorities concerned of district level hospitals and upazila health complexes have been instructed to ensure presence of doctors in the hospitals so that healthcare service is not hampered in any way.
The DGHS official said the hospital administration will take necessary measures so that doctors can provide maximum health care services to patients during the holidays. In the capital, tertiary hospitals, including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH)
In the capital, tertiary hospitals, including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, have taken steps to ensure proper health services during the Eid holidays, hospital sources said.
BSMMU sources said outdoor services of the hospital will remain closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (June 15, 16 and 17) while indoor services will remain open as usual.
However, outdoor services excepting specialised evening consultation services will resume from Monday (June 18) while regular activities will begin on Tuesday (June 19), sources added.
