Health Desk-- 20 May, 2018: A new study said that having mangoes could prevent heart disease.

Lead author of the study Dr Britt Burton-Freeman, based at the university's Center for Nutrition Research, said, 'Mangos are one of the popular fruits in the world.

The study, which, interestingly, has been funded by suppliers of the exotic fruit found that they can control blood sugar levels and slash cholesterol.

Funded by the US-based National Mango Board, the review also showed that the fruit has benefits for the brain, skin and gut.

However, critics are not ready to take it at face value saying that it could be an agenda to sell more mangoes.
