Health Desk: 20 January, 2018 --- Ad-din Foundation has launched the operation of health camps with a target to conduct 10,000 cataract surgeries for free a year to restore eyesight of poor patients.
Micro-credit Regulatory Authority Executive Vice Chairman Amalendu Mukherjee inaugurated the first camp at Boaliaghat Secondary School ground at Manirampur in Jessore on Friday.
Ad-din Foundation Executive Director Dr Sheikh Mohiuddin, Ad-din Welfare Centre Director Fazlulul Haq, Vice-chairman Prof Abed Ali and ophthalmologist Dr Minhazur Rahman, among others, were present at the event.
Cataract operations were conducted on 70 patients at the camp where quilts were also distributed among cold-hit people.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Mohiuddin said Ad-din Foundation is working to restore eyesight of the people who cannot afford treatment and are getting blind for lack of proper treatment and care.
Later, the Foundation distributed scholarship among 146 meritorious students of Jessore at a function at Ad-din Sakina Medical College at Pulerhat, on the outskirts of the district town.
