Health Desk: 6 December '17: Speakers at an advocacy meeting in Rajshahi have underscored the need for a concerted effort to create awareness among mass people for building a tuberculosis-free society.
They said TB is no more a killer disease as its early detection, proper and timely diagnosis, treatment and preventive measures are found effective in fighting the disease.
Local unit of National Anti-tuberculosis Association of Bangladesh (NATAB) organised the meeting styled "Creating Mass Awareness to Fight Tuberculosis", at SK Food World Restaurant in the city on Wednesday.
Divisional Director of Health Dr Abdus Sobhan addressed the meeting as the chief guest with NATAB local unit president Advocate Golam Rabbani in the chair.
Assistant Director of Health Dr Ismat Ara and Editor of Daily Sonar Desh Akbarul Hassan Millat also spoke on the occasion.
NATAB local unit general secretary Advocate Shahinul Haque Moon illustrated the aims and objectives of the meeting.
