Health Desk—Sep 19, 2017: Six Bangladeshi children, including three girls, returned home through Benapole check post in Jessore on Monday night after serving one year jail term in an Indian prison.

Indian police handed them over to Benapole immigration police.

Omar Sharif, officer-in-charge of Benapole check post police, said that the returnees entered the Indian territory one and half years back without valid documents through Jessore border points in search of good job.

Later, Indian police arrested them from Kolkata and a case was filed against them.

Following that, an Indian court sentenced them to one year imprisonment and sent them to Kolkata Central Jail.

Apurbo Hasan, officer-in-charge of Benapole Port police station, said they handed them over to human right organisation - Rights Jessore - to return them to their respective families.
