Russia keen to recruit Bangladeshi doctors

Health Desk—April 17, 2017: Governor of Leningrad in Russia Oblast Alexander Drozdenko on Saturday expressed his desire in recruiting skilled manpower, specially doctors, from Bangladesh.

The Russian port city governor expressed his desire during a meeting with Bangladesh Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali at the Governor Mansion in St Petersburg, Russia, says a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka.  

During the meeting, the Bangladesh foreign minister said, “Bangladeshi export items like pharmaceuticals, ocean going vessels, leather goods, tea, especially organic tea, potato and fragrant rice are quite popular in the different European countries and foresees good potential in Russia as well.”

The Bangladesh minister invited the Governor of Leningrad to visit Bangladesh, along with a business delegation, which the Governor cordially accepted.

Mahmood Ali visited the headquarters of Russian joint stock company Gazprom in Moscow on Friday.

During the visit, he met with Gazprom Chairman Alexey Miller. He was accompanied by Bangladesh Ambassador in Moscow Dr Saiful Hoque, Energy and Mineral Resources Secretary Nazimuddin Chowdhury, DG (Europe) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other members of his delegation.
