Health Desk- 04 July, 2020: Top diplomats of the country have stressed the need for taking short-term and long-term plans to overcome the challenges during and after the coronavirus pandemic.
In a virtual meeting on Thursday they highlighted the geo-political reality and made some important recommendations.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen presided over the meeting hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen along with former Foreign Secretaries and Ambassadors, MR Osmani, Faruk Sobhan, CM Shafi Sami, Shamser Mobin Chowdhury, Md Shahidul Haque, Md Abdul Hannan, Humayun Kabir, Ahmed Tariq Karim, Mohsin Ali Khan and AKM Atiqur Rahman joined the meeting.
During the virtual discussion, the former diplomats discussed different bilateral, regional and multilateral diplomatic measures considering the geo-political reality. The diplomats also praised Bangladesh government’s participation in the COVID-19 fund, created by the European Union as well as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s address to the recent Global Vaccination Summit.
Foreign Minister said the suggestions made by the former diplomats would be taken with high importance in different activities of the foreign ministry.
