Health Desk--26 Sep’18: World Lung Day was observed in Bangladesh as elsewhere across the globe on Tuesday.
The 25th September has been declared as the World Lung Day by the Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS) to ensure that the critical importance of lung health is recognised worldwide.
Bangladesh Lung Foundation (BLF), the lone signatory of the World Lung Day Charter from Bangladesh, arranged a celebration at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).
The speakers said coordinated global approach is needed to keep lung healthy through adopting preventive measures and research strategies. They said this while celebrating the World Lung Day 2018 in the capital on Tuesday.
Dr Mohammad Abdus Shakur Khan, BLF joint secretary, conducted the programme while Dr Asif Mujtaba Mahmud, its treasurer, delivered welcome speech with Prof Md Rashidul Hassan, president of BLF, in the chair.
