Health Desk--4th May, 2018: More than 120,000 children of 26 upazilas of three districts in Chattogram Hill Tracks (CHT) would be brought under pre-primary education to prepare them for primary education, according to CHT affairs ministry sources.
An official of CHT affairs ministry said that the children living in 5,000 remote localities under the 26 upazilas of CHT would be given pre-primary education to ensure their enrollment for primary education.
A number of those children would be given technical and stipend-based education alongside the regular curriculum, he added.
To this end, the government has launched "Sustainable Social Services for CHT" project involving Taka 417 crore which is scheduled to be implemented by June, 2021, said the official, who is familiar with the project.
The project will cover 5,000 localities of 26 upazilas in Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban districts of CHT.
