Health Desk- 27 July, 2019: The Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said dengue situation in the country has become alarming. Therefore, everyone must be alert and do their bit to stay safe.
He said this while speaking at a press conference at the ruling Awami League president Sheikh Hasina’s political office in the capital’s Dhanmondi area on Friday.
Hospitals in Dhaka are mostly filled to the brim with a large number of dengue infected patients reporting as the mosquito-borne disease spreading to other parts of the country, hospital sources said Friday.
The hospital authorities are facing difficulty in tackling the situation as a number the number of dengue infected patients reporting to the hospitals have increased significantly.
Data of the Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said around 9,657 patients were admitted with dengue infection to different hospitals across the country including the capital from January 1 to July 26 while eight died from dengue during that time.
