Ensure treatment for people with disabilities: PM

Health Desk: Sep 08, 2020: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday emphasised the involvement of all in ensuring proper medical services for the people with disabilities.

“Let us work together to ensure the medical services of all the people with disabilities and those at risk of disability and to play an effective role in improving their quality of life with the aim of building Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s dream Golden Bangladesh,” she said.

“I am delighted that a special supplement has been published on the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day 2020 at the initiative of the Department of Physiotherapy, CRP,” said a message as she was quoted on the eve of the Day.

This day has been celebrated every year since 1996 to accurately assess the outstanding contribution of physiotherapists from all over the world towards patients and society. This year’s theme of the day is ‘Rehabilitation after Covid-19’. “Our government is dealing with the Corona epidemic very efficiently, I believe that the Department of Physiotherapy, CRP will play an important role in the next rehabilitation of Corona.” she said.

The Prime Minister said that the treatment and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities was started in Bangladesh immediately after independence under the patronage of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all time.
