Health Desk- May 13, 2020: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Tuesday started anti-mosquito drives and fined a number of owners of establishments, as breeding grounds for mosquitoes were discovered there.
DNCC Zone-1 executive officer and executive magistrate Julkar Nayon conducted a drive in Uttara 7 and Sonargaon Janoptah area under Ward No. 1 and Kurtali area under Ward No. 17 and inspected 20 establishments.
During the drive, four house owners were warned, as Aedes mosquito larvae were found inside their residences.
Besides, DNCC Zone-2 executive officer and executive magistrate Shofiqul Azam, DNCC Zone-3 executive magistrate Shariful Islam, DNCC Zone-5 executive officer and executive magistrate Md Masud Hossain, DNCC Zone-6 executive officer and executive magistrate Sajia Afrin, DNCC Zone-7 and 8 executive officer and executive magistrate Abed Ali conducted drives in their respective areas and fined a number of owners of houses and businesses.
DNCC chief revenue officer and executive magistrate Abdul Hamid Mia conducted a drive in Ward No. 10, 37 and 43 and conducted an awareness campaign.
DNCC executive magistrate Roslina Parvin conducted a drive in Gulshan-1 and Gulshan-2 area and fined owners of two under-construction buildings Tk 7000, as mosquito breeding grounds were found there.
