Health Desk- 3 July, 2019: The government on Tuesday distributed corrugated iron sheet and cash amount among natural disaster inflicted people of Lakshmipur district to help them reconstructing their homes, reports BSS.
A total of 53 families at a function at district collect orate building received the CI sheet and cash money allocated by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
Deputy Commissioner Anjan C. Paul distributed the relief while other senior officials of the district administration, UNO of Sadar Upazila and officials of the district social welfare office and district relief and rehabilitation office were present. Later the deputy commissioner distributed cheques of Taka 65.50 lakh among 131 poor patients suffering from kidney and cancer diseases, liver cirrhosis, brain stroke and paralysis.
Addressing the function the deputy commissioner urged the poor people to refrain from smoking and drugs to remain free from complicated diseases. Any poor patient can apply to the government through social welfare department seeking assistance for their treatment of any complicated disease, he said.
Among others, acting civil surgeon Dr Nizam Uddin, additional deputy commissioner (gen) Safiuzzaman Bhuiyan and Sadar Upazila Nirbani Officer Shafiqur Ridwan Arman Shakil were present.
