Bangla Version to mark World Health Day 2019

Health Desk- 06 April 2019: To mark the ’World Health Day 2019’, the is going to organize a daylong program ‘Sasthoseba Houk Sober’ (Health for All) on 7th April 2019, Sunday.

The theme of this year’s World Health Day is ‘Universal Health Coverage: everyone, everywhere’.  The day will be celebrated across the country as elsewhere around the world with several health related activities. 

On the occasion of the day, aims to promote and reach health services through a series of programs at the National Press Club. The program will include-Free Health Camp, Scientific Session, Parliamentary debates and Cultural programs to be started at 11 am and concludes at 6pm on Sunday.

Dr. Apurba Pandit, Editor of, in this connection said, `The development of healthcare system in the country is impossible if ‘Digital Healthcare’ is not ensured. With the flow of time, Bangladesh has been running to the development of healthcare, but there is still a lot of complexities in the country. Proper informative system for healthcare is a must to ensure healthcare for all. Today, coordination between doctors and journalists is a demand of time. So, we are going to organize such an event to mark the World Health Day.’

Dr. Apurba Pandit also said, ‘The members of National Press Club and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) will get access to specialist health service in the ‘Free Health Camp’ for free. Through scientific sessions, Debates and Cultural events, the latest health information and healthy entertainment will be accessible to the people hoping health service in online’.

Dr. Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, President, Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) will take part in the event as the Chief Guest while Molla Jalal, General Secretary, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ); Kamrul Hasan Khan, former Vice Chancellor, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU); Professor Dr. Md. Shahidullah Sikder, Pro Vice Chancellor (Research & Development), BSMMU; Dr. Rokeya Sultana, Health and Population Affairs Secretary, Bangladesh Awami League; Saiful Alam, President, National Press Club; Shaban Mahmud, General Secretary, BFUJ; Abu Jafar Surja, President, Dhaka Union of Journalist (DUJ); Farida Yasmin, General Secretary, National Press Club; Sohel Hayder Choudhury, General Secretary, DUJ; M Mosaddek Hossain, Managing Director, UniMed UniHealth Pharmaceuticals Ltd. will present as special guests.    

Besides, the Journalist panel, professionals and political figures will take part in the day long program.

A parliamentary debate will be held in the program where debaters from Dhanmondi Govt Boys High School & Motijheel Ideal School and College will take part. The speaker in the session is Mohinee Prithula. The proposal is- `This Parliament Thinks Lack of Awareness is The Main Interference in Getting Healthcare’.  

The World Health Day program will come to the end with a colorful Cultural Program where Recitation, Dance, Patriotic Song, Baul Song and Chanting will be presented.
