DNCC to make action plan to reduce disaster risk

Health Desk: 29th Oct’18: The city corporation will make an action plan by December this year to meet challenges of the natural disaster, said, Md Jamal Mustafa, Panel Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).

The Panel Mayor said, “For minimizing loss of natural disaster, every city should have its own action plan. DNCC is going to finalize its action plan to meet challenges of the natural disaster”.

He came up with the comments while speaking at a press conference at DNCC office on the decision taken at a workshop on “Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk” held in the city recently.

“We are preparing ourselves for the challenges of the natural disaster.  We have already bought equipment to fight the fire,” he added.

Earlier, Dr Tariq Bin Yousuf, project director of ‘Urban Resilience’, talked about the action plan in light with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction and Sendai Framework.
