Health Desk--22 Sep’18: Food Minister Muhammad Qamrul Islam said the government will categorise the restaurants in the capital’s Motijheel area based on the quality of food, pricing and the way food is prepared and served at the restaurant.
He said this while speaking at a roundtable discussion on “Drive against Adulterated Food: Institutional Deficiencies” at National Press Club on Thursday.
The minister said, “Safe Food Authority is conducting a study on quality of food, pricing and the way food is prepared and served in 200 restaurants of Motijheel area in the capital. The best food processor will be placed under green zone while others will be placed under yellow zone and red zone”.
Deshinfo.com.bd, an online newsportal and Watchdog Bangladesh, a voluntary organization, jointly arranged the roundtable. Food and nutrition experts, researchers, businessmen, media professionals, and others spoke at the discussion. Rashed Chowdhury, Editor of the Deshinfo.com.bd presided over the meeting.
