Health Desk--8 August, 2018: The government will provide treatment and diagnostic services free of cost at public hospitals and community clinics around the country on August 15, marking the National Mourning Day.
Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mohammed Nasim came up with the decision while presiding over a preparatory meeting to mark the National Mourning Day at the ministry on Tuesday.
As per the decision, the free treatment and diagnostic services will be provided at the outpatient departments of the hospitals and clinics from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Free medical treatment will also be provided at the casualty departments for 24 hours.
Serajul Huq Khan, Secretary of Health Services Division, and GM Saleh Uddin, Secretary of Health Education and Family Planning Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Abul Kalam Azad, Director General of Directorate General Health service, Kazi Mustafa Sarwar, Director General of Directorate General of Family Planning, and Tandra Sikder, Director General of Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery, and high-ranking officials of the ministry were present at the meeting.
