Health Desk: 08 April 2018: A job fair for the physically challenged people was held for the first time in the port city on Saturday.
Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Bangladesh Business and Disability Network (BBDN), BRAC and Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) jointly organised the fair at World Trade Centre in the Agrabad area.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Md Iqbal Bahar inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.
CCCI President Mahbubul Alam presided over the inaugural ceremony while Bangladesh Employers Federation President Kamran T Rahman was present as the guest of honour and TVET and Skills Development Specialist of ILO Ligaya Laoeng Dumaoang and National Skills Development Council Executive Committee Co-Chairman and Turkey Honourary Consul General Salahuddin Kasem Khan as the special guests.
Iqbal Bahar, in his speech, said the physically challenged people are not fully unable and having qualities they are able for special sectors.
He laid emphasis on developing the person with disability as skilled manpower through nurturing their abilities.
