PM pledges to build medical college in Chandpur

Health Desk- April 02, 2018: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a public rally on Sunday promised to establish a government medical college in Chandpur as the local Member of Parliament Dr Dipu Moni is a doctor and she demanded for it.

She said, "We believe in the development of the country, welfare of the people and our sole aim is to ensure peaceful environment for the nation."

Sheikh Hasina, also the president of the ruling Awami League, made the call while addressing a mammoth public rally at a stadium in Chandpur district.

Earlier on her arrival at the venue, Sheikh Hasina inaugurated 23 development projects and laid the foundation stones of 24 others. In her address, she promised to establish a government medical college and special economic zone in Chandpur.

The Prime Minister requested all including parents, teachers and imams to remain careful to ensure that the youths do not become engaged in terrorism, militancy and drug addiction.

AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former foreign minister and AL Joint Secretary Dr Dipu Moni and the ruling party leaders Dr Abdur Razzaq, Major Rafiqul Islam, Dr Mahiuddin Khan Alamgir, Sujit Roy Nandi and Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya addressed the rally chaired by district Awami League President Naziruddin Ahmed.

The Chandpur district Awami League organised the rally at Chandpur Stadium.
