Community Clinics to get medicine worth Tk 40 crore

Health Desk: 05 March 2018: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has made an administrative order to buy medicine worth Tk 40 crore for Community Clinics for this fiscal year. Through a direct purchasing process, a total of 23,447 carton of medicines will be bought from Essential Drugs Company Limited (EDCL).

This approval was given in a letter on Sunday attested by Hasan Mahmud, Deputy Secretary of Purchase and Collection department under Health Care Department of Health Ministry.

Following a Memorandum of February 18, it was said in the letter that according to Community Based Health Care (CBHC) 2017-2018 fiscal year proposal, the approval to purchase 27 types of medicines for Community Clinics was given.

According to the condition, it’s a must to obey the provisions- PPA 2006, PPR-2008 and Financial Stability Delivery 2015, to spend the money. Necessary financial support should be given to Budget/ Revised Annual Development Program. All conditions should be followed regarding money distribution. Value Added Tax (VAT) will be cut accordingly. By submitting Bill Voucher, financial expense grants will have to be received.
