Health Desk:10 January 2018: A free eye screening camp was held at Kallyanpur Slum to identify and treat visually impaired underprivileged people who are unable to seek treatment because of financial inability and lack of awareness on Friday.
Distressed Children & Infants International (DCI) and RSC organized the camp in partnership with Faraaz Ayaaz Hossain Foundation.
The camp was held as a part of the opening of a joint venture of the foundation and DCI a ‘Journey for Gift of Sight’ across Bangladesh for childhood blindness prevention.
About 273 underprivileged people received free eye screening and treatment from the camp. Patients diagnosed with cataract and refractive errors will be provided surgeries and eyeglasses free of cost.
The event was attended by several distinguished guests including Professor A.K Azad Khan (The President of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh DAB and Country Director, DCI), Tasik Ahmed (Senior Vice President of ATN Bangla), Dr. Mohammad Mujahidul Islam (Director Marketing & Sales, Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd.), Binay Das (Secretary General of Faraaz Hossain Foundation), and several US doctors & volunteers.
