Persons with disabilities, leprosy get assistive devices

Health Desk—Nov 03, 2017: A number of leprosy affected persons with disabilities got assistive devices from a project on Thursday to help them move smoothly.

The assistive devices were distributed to the beneficiaries under the project of Integrated Leprosy Service through Strengthening Health System funded by effect: hope of Canada, concerned sources said.

A simple function organized by The Leprosy Mission International, Bangladesh was held on the office premises of civil surgeon (CS) in Gaibandha.

CS Dr. Abdus Shakur distributed wheel chair, tricycle and hand crutches among the leprosy affected persons of Sadar and Sundarganj upazilas of the district as the chief guest.

Dr. Abdus Shakur thanked the organizers for standing beside the leprosy affected persons with positive attitude.

Concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
