Depression: Let’s talk

Dr. Apurba Pandit—2nd April, 2017: Depression is one of the deadly diseases. Sometimes, depression can lead a person to death. About this fatal disease, there is no sign of concern among general people so far! It’s a strange disdain.

This is why we want to know—how to find its solution? Online health portal amarhealth.com has taken an exceptional initiative in order to raise mass awareness about autism.  

With the slogan 'Depression: Let’s talk', amarhealth.com is going to organize a giant event at Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Auditorium, scheduled to be held on Friday at 03pm (7th April, 2017). Different programs including, seminar, discussion, show-debate, cultural program etc. will be held on the occasion.  

Prof. Dr. Syed Modasser Ali, former health adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is expected to deliver the opening speech in the program while Dr. Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, president of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), will be present as chief guest.

Professor Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan, Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Prof. Dr. Rashid-E-Mahbub, former president to Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), Professor Dr. Md. Shahidullah Sikder, Pro Vice Chancellor (Research & Development) of BSMMU, Professor Dr. Mohit Kamal, National Institute of Mental Health & Research (NIMH&R) and Pijush Bandyopadhyay, former managing director of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), will be present as special guests.

Dr. MD: Zillur Rahman Khan, Assistant Professor of NIMH&R will present the key note paper on mental health with Dr. Apurba Pandit, Editor of amarhealth.com, in chair.

Soon after the speech of speakers, Dr. Rownak Afroz will join the program through a teleconference from Los Angeles of America.

Led by Mohinee Prithula, editor of the page ‘Kids Corner’ of amarhealth.com, an eye catching show-debate will also be held titled on ‘Only lack of public awareness is one of the obstacles to treatment for mental diseases’.

The program will come to the end through a colorful cultural event.
