amarhealth Correspondent: June 15, 2016: There is only a medical university in Bangladesh and that is Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). More medical universities are needed to meet the growing demand of massive population. From such a thought, Dr. Kali Pradip Chaudhuri, one of the richest persons of Bangladesh and the world, has come ahead.
Born at Dattarail village under Dhaka Dakshin in Sylhet, Kali Pradip is going to establish country’s 2nd medical university on 35 acre land in ancestral property. The leading national personalities were expecting the university to be built in the capital city Dhaka. But the land grabbers were opposing on fear of curbing their personal interests.
But following the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Finance Minister and his brother Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the UN, have taken responsibility to build the medical university on the property of the landlord house. It is expected that patients from home and abroad will come here for treatment. Both Dr. Kali Pradip Chaudhuri and his sister Trishna Datta are expecting for materialization of their great-grandfather Kalikaprosonno Datta’s enormous dream.
To add, Kali Pradip have a total of 26 world class 1000-bed medical college hospitals in US and India. Besides, he has 25 types of business in 8 countries across the world. He has a 3.5km luxurious home in California, 16 tea gardens with 50,000 acre area in India and a nuclear power plant in Ukraine.
He has unbelievable friendship with world leaders. US President Barak Obama, former President Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Senior Bush and Hillary Clinton are his diner partners. For his respect, a 55km-long road was named after Dr. Kali Pradip Chaudhuri in US.
Kali Pradip spent his childhood in his birthplace Dattarail village under Dhaka Dakshin of Sylhet district. He is one of the world famous personalities but did not forget his motherland. Kali Pradip came back home ‘Dhaka Dakshin’ with his long cherished dream. In fact, there are 3 colleges in the traditional region of Bangladesh ‘Dhaka Dakshin’.
Kali Pradip Chaudhuri has started construction of the 142 stored tallest building ‘KPC Tower’ in the capital's Purbachal area. The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate it within a few weeks. Following this, the construction of the medical university will be commenced. Kali Pradip asks for help of the locals in this regard.
In addition, the Finance Minister AMA Muhith in a programme held in the ‘Dhaka Dakshin’, passed an order to make the illegally occupied lands free within the shortest time. If the land grabbers fail to make the lands free, stern action would be taken against them, Muhit warned.
