8 teams to monitor veterinary service in Dhaka cattle markets

Health Desk-27 July, 2020: The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock on Sunday formed eight monitoring teams to observe the activities of veterinary medical teams and other health related issues at all the cattle markets of two Dhaka city corporations ahead of Eid.

Each of the monitoring teams comprises a deputy secretary, says a ministry press release.

The ministry also formed 18 veterinary medical teams and one specialised veterinary medical team to provide services at the 17 cattle markets in Dhaka.

This year, Dhaka South City Corporation has approved 11 cattle markets while Dhaka North City Corporation approved six.

The ministry also formed four cattle market management monitoring teams and one control room management team to look into other issues at the markets.

The Department of Livestock constituted 1,213 veterinary medical teams for cattle markets across the country and other teams to monitor their activities.
