Beware of dengue, chikungunya: DNCC Mayor

Health Desk-26 June, 2019: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Tuesday urged city dwellers to be careful of dengue and chikungunya diseases.

He said, “Aedes mosquitoes which spread dengue and chikungunya breeds on transparent, stagnant water. Every citizen has to be conscious of the matter. If everyone is aware, we can’t get dengue and chikungunya diseases.”

He came up with the statements during an awareness campaign against dengue and chikungunya diseases in Ward No. 35 of Moghbazar under DNCC.

The campaign started from Moghbazar intersection and ended in Noyatola area of the capital.

During the campaign, DNCC officials hand out leaflets to increase public awareness.

Among others, researcher and writer Syed Abul Maksud and DNCC chief health officer Brig Gen Md Mominur Rahman Mamun were present on the occasion.
