Health Desk--20 August, 2018: Experts on Sunday urged the media to play a more responsible role in tackling the risks of climate change.

They made the call at a discussion on a research paper containing an analysis of the climate-related reports in country’s top five newspapers in 2017.

The function titled ‘Climate change and role of media in Bangladesh’ was organised by Network on Climate Change, Bangladesh (NCCB) at Dhaka Reporters Unity.

Press Institute of Bangladesh director general M Shah Alamgir, Bangladesh Climate Change Journalist Forum president Kawsaer Rahman and Bangladesh Parliament Journalist Association joint general secretary Nikhil Bhadra, among others, were present at the function with NCCB coordinator Mizanur Rahman Bijoy in the chair.

Addressing the programme, Alamgir stressed the need for raising awareness about the impact of climate change among the general public.
