Health Desk: 07 February 2018: The government has taken a project, titled 'Dhaka Environmentally Sustainable Water Supply Project (DESWASP)', to provide safe drinking water in the capital as per demand.

Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain said this in Parliament on Tuesday while responding to a written question from MA Latif (Ctg-11).

The minister said the project will be implemented by December 2021.

Under the project, water will be collected from the Meghna River and be purified at the plant on the east bank of the Shitalakshya River.
