Cold wave sweeping over country

Health Desk: 05 January 2018: A mild cold wave is sweeping over several districts of the country causing sufferings to the poor and the elderly. The Met office said temperatures could drop even further this evening.

Doctors warn that the number of patients, especially children and the elderly suffering from cold-related ailments like pneumonia, and diarrhea, thronging to hospitals might further increase in the coming days.

The lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 6.3 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga yesterday.

The highest and lowest temperature recorded in Dhaka on Thursday were 21.80 and 10.50 Celsius and in Chittagong 25.50 and 150 Celsius respectively.
