Health Desk—4th Dec’17: Aiming to raise awareness among city duelers on disaster risk reduction (DRR), a photography competition has been launched in the capital recently.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and SEEDS Asia, a Japanese NGO, initiated the competition titled, “Tell Us Your Story”.

It is open for professionals and amateurs. The deadline for submission is January 15, 2018, says a press release.

Selected photographs will be exhibited at a three-day photo show at Bishwo Sahitto Kendra in Dhaka from February 9 to 11. Photographs by Japanese participants will also be featured.

It's important to mention, DNCC and the SEEDS Asia will award 10 people. The best photographs will be exhibited in Japan next year. The competition is divided into three categories -- students, armatures and professionals.

Photographs will cover DRR in themes such as gender, children, environment, preparedness, science and technology, school and home.

With captions of maximum 100 words, competitors can send their photographs at [email protected] or can drop CDs at the DNCC office at Gulshan Centre point in Gulshan-2.
