Health Desk-- 11 August, 2017: Different anti-tobacco organisations on Thursday formed a human chain in front of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) demanding lawful implementation of the Graphic Health Warning (GHW) on tobacco products’ packets.

The human chain was organised by National Heart Foundation, Dhaka Ahsania Mission, ACD, YPSA, Protyasha, AID Foundation, UBINIG, WBB Trust, BCCP, TCRC, and PROGGA among others.

Helal Ahmed of Protyasha, Syeda Ananyanna Rahman of WBB Trust, Aminul Islam Bokul of AID Foundation, Shahida Akhter of TABINAJ, Mohammad Bojlur Rahman of TCRC, and Nazmul Haider of YPSA spoke at the human chain.

They said the legal implementation of GHW is on the verge of ruin in interference of tobacco companies.

A team of the organisers of the programme submitted a memorandum to NBR Chairman Nozibur Rahman after the human chain.
