Health Desk--27 August, 2018: Four children of a tribal community died of unknown disease at Sonai-Tripura Para under Hathazari upazila in Chittagong district in the last few days.
Besides, 22 affected children have been undergoing treatment at Hathazari Upazila Health Complex.
Quoting the victims’ families, local Union Parishad member Sirajul Islam said the children were affected by fever with rashes on their skins. They also suffered from respiratory problem before death.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Akterunnesa Sheuly said they sent a medical team to the remote hilly area to look into the matter.
However, Director General Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) at a press conference at IEDCR auditorium in the capital disclosed that the children died of measles.
