Health Desk—April 28, 2017: President Abdul Hamid Thursday called for taking concerted efforts in ensuring occupational health protection and safe work environment in the country.
He made the call in a messages on the eve of 'National Occupational Health and Safety Day-2017'.
The President, in his message, underscored the need for not keeping the cherished goals of the day limited to the country's workers and owners only rather making the thing as a national culture.
There is no alternative to ensure utmost utilization of up-to-date technology and labour resource to cope up with the open market economy, he observed.
The President said it is very important to ensure developed workplace, occupational health and safety of institutional and non-institutional workers to increase productivity for sustainable development.
"Healthiness of workers and congenial work environment is closely related with productivity," he said.
However, the President wished success of all programmes marking the day.
