Health Desk--2 August, 2018: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has launched an initiative to provide on-call medical service and free medicines to patients residing in the area for 15 days this month.
Commemorating Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon inaugurated the service at Nagar Bhaban on Wednesday.
DSCC Mayor said the campaign has been launched in the month of mourning to pay homage to the ideology and work of the greatest son of the soil, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Any DSCC resident will be able to avail the free service and necessary medicines by calling hotline number 09611000999, he said, adding that a medical team comprising two to three assistant health officers will be on standby at each of the 57 wards under DSCC and a health officer will be dispatched soon after a patient makes a call.
Earlier in 2017, DSCC provided medical service for free to Chikungunya patients during an outbreak of the mosquito-borne disease.
