Health Desk—April 17, 2017: The World Voice Day-2017 was observed on Monday at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Sunday with a call for raising awareness to protect the larynx from damage.
With the theme ‘Share Your Voice’, a discussion was held at Multipurpose Hall of C-Block on the campus.
BSMMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Professor Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan addressed the function as chief guest with Association of Phonosurgeons of Bangladesh (APB) President Professor Kamrul Hassan Tarafder in the chair.
BSMMU Pro-VC (research and development) Professor Dr. Shahidullah Sikder, Pro-VC (administration) Professor Dr. Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed and treasurer Professor Md. Ali Asgor Moral addressed the function as special guests.
Dr. Sheikh Hasanur Rahman presented a key-note paper in the discussion while APB General Secretary Professor SM Khorshed Alam Mazumder delivered welcome speech.
Addressing the function, Professor Kamrul said different types of problems may be occurred in throat due to accident. But now there is an arrangement for healing the larynx problems in BSMMU.
Earlier, led by BSMMU VC Professor Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan, a rally was brought out from Bottala premises on the campus. Parading main streets of the campus it ended at the same place.
