Health Desk- 15 September 2020: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Coalition of STD Directors organized the 2020 STD Prevention Conference to begin on Sep. 14 and will conclude on Sep. 24, occurs every two years.
The 2020 STD Prevention Virtual Conference to be held at Atlanta, Georgia, United States, brings together international leading researchers with government experts, clinical STD care providers, and state and local public health administrators. Join more than 1,200 conference attendees for ten days of scientific updates and cutting-edge sessions on science, program and policy.
A letter, issued by Gail Bolan, MD, Conference Co-Chair and Chaquetta Johnson, DNP, MPH, Conference Co-Chair, reads- ‘We are working hard to put together a scientific program that is sure to enlighten, challenge, and inspire participants while addressing a range of topics around our conference theme--2020 Vision: Disrupting Epidemics and Dismantling Disparities.’
The letter also reads, ‘This conference comes at an exciting and challenging time as we encounter unprecedented rates of STDs and technological advancements that continue to transform social networks, our health care delivery system, and STD prevention practices. The 2020 STD Prevention Conference will provide us an opportunity to examine our work in the context of these changes and identify new approaches to confront the varied syndemics each of us face from STDs and HIV to substance use.’
