Two arrested with 8,000 Yaba pills in Ctg

Health Desk- 9 June, 2019: Detective Branch (DB) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 8,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from the city’s Bridgeghat area on Friday night.

The arrestees were identified as Md Dulal, 40, son late Sanaullah of Raipur upazila in Laximpur district, and Md Faruk Hossain, 38, son of late Siddik Ullah of Noakhali district headquarters.

Deputy Commissioner (DC-Bandar) SM Mostain Hossain of the DB said acting on a tip-off, a team led by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-West) AAM Humayun Kabir carried out a drive in front of a restaurant in the Bridgeghat area on Friday night.

The DB-men arrested the duo with the Yaba pills kept tactfully inside an ambulance during the drive, he said.

However, a case was filed in this connection.
