Health Desk: May 12, 2017-- Healthy Bangladesh, a new civic platform, is going to be launched on Saturday to promote solutions to unplanned urbanization in the capital.
It is being launched though a daylong programme beginning with ‘Clean-up of Bahadur Shah Public Park’ in Old Dhaka followed by a civic walk and signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dhaka South City Corporation in the morning, according to the sources.
As part of the programme, a policy dialogue on medical education and public launch of the platform will be held in the presence of the health minister. A cross-section of stakeholders will also gather at the LGED auditorium.
Earlier on Thursday, a pre-launch meeting of the organisers of Healthy Bangladesh was held at PPRC, the secretariat of the platform.
Chaired by the PPRC executive chairman, Hossain Zillur Rahman, also convener of the platform, the meeting finalised the events of the launching of the civil platform.
