Health Desk-26 Oct, 2019: Right activists called upon the authorities concerned to identify differently-able people in different areas across the country to ensure sustainable development goals.
Addressing a report titled ‘Sustainable Development Goals and Disability’ unveiling event at Gulshan’s Spectra Convention Centre in the city, speakers also laid emphasis on making a disabled friendly places across the country as they can easily move.
Prime Minister’s Office Principle Coordinator on SDG Affairs Abul Kalam Azad was present as the chief guest in the event while NGO Affairs Bureau Director General Abdus Salam was present as the special guest. Former UN official Monsur Ahmed Chowdhury presided over the programme.
Addressing the meeting Principle Coordinator Abul Kalam Azad said the government is highly committed to attaining the sustainable development goals maintaining its policy.
Disability Alliance on SDGs Convener Khondoker Ariful Islam said the SDGs have categorically addressed inclusion of all vulnerable groups of people, especially the disable one.
