Hospital beds to be increased for dengue patients: Minister

Health Desk- 4 August, 2019: Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque on Saturday said aiming to ensure dengue patients’ proper treatment in the city, hospital beds will be increased if situation demands, reports BSS.

“Additional 1000 beds at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery and the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital and some more beds at the Shishu Hospital in the city can be arranged in the coming days to tackle the dengue situation,” the minister told journalists after visiting five hospitals in the city.

The minister said about 100 and 200 beds have already been added to the Mitford Hospital and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) respectively.
