Health Desk--5th May, 2018: With an aim to run healthcare activities and services at public hospitals and health complexes properly, the government has taken an initiative to recruit around 50,000 non-medical officials and employees across the country.
“Discussion about the recruitment process is going on. We hope that the recruitment process may begin within the next two months,” Kazi Jahangir Hossain, director of hospital and clinics at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), told a national daily recently.
A total of 35,000 posts of non-medical employees have been lying vacant in public hospitals at different levels and health centres across the country and more posts will fall vacant soon, he added.
He said after publication of the new recruitment rules, the door for recruitment of non-medical employees has opened, which remained closed for seven years.
