Health Desk: 15 April 2018: The world’s largest burn and plastic surgery institute ‘Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute’ will be inaugurated in the capital in September, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim.
He was addressing reporters while inspecting the construction work of the institute at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) at Chankharpul in the capital on Friday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the world class burn institute in September, said Nasim.
DMCH Plastic Surgery Unit founding director Dr Samanta Lal Sen, president of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, project director of the building under construction Lt Col Shakil Ahmed and other officials of the project were present there.
The minister said that the country’s graduation to a developing one from least developed country (LDC) and the establishment of the world’s largest medical care center and educational institute appear as great achievements of the nation.
Dr Samanta Lal said that the nurses, who will be posted in the burn institute, are receiving training in Singapore and other countries. Besides, procurement of machine and equipment is going on, he added.
