Three held with 40,000 strips of fake drugs

Health Desk: Dec 30, 2017-- Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Friday arrested three persons from Tantibazar area in the capital early Friday on charges of involvement with importing fake cancer-fighting and infertility drugs from China.

The arrestees are identified as Ruhul Amian alias Dulal Chowdhury, 46, Nikhil Rajbansi, 44, and Md Sayeed.

CID teams in separate drives also seized a total of 40,000 strips of three kinds of drugs from their possession. The drugs were kept inside a sack.

CID special superintended of police (organised crime) Mollah Nazrul Islam on Friday disclosed the matter at a press briefing at CID headquarters in the capital.

A case was filed under the Special Powers Act against them with Kotwali Police Station in this regard in the capital on the day.

Meanwhile, police recovered the hanging body of a college girl at Dagarmora here on Friday noon, reports UNB.
