Infant stolen from Barisal hospital

Health Desk—June 05, 2017: A newborn boy was stolen from Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barisal on Sunday.

According to the sources, Salma Begum of Khorki village in the district gave birth to the boy at the hospital on Thursday.

When the child's father Anowar Hossain Khan returned from outside after taking his seheri around 6:00am, he found that his son was stolen and the patient next to their bed at the maternity ward was also traceless, said Director of the hospital Dr SM Sirajul Islam.

“This incident could have taken place between 4:30am to 6:00am. We are trying to examine the CC camera footages," he added.

A case was filed and a woman was detained in this connection, said Awlad Hossain Khan, Officer-in-Charge of Barisal Kotwali Model Police Station.
