Health Desk- 22 August 2020: Renowned sculptor Mrinal Haque (62) has passed away at a hospital in Dhaka.
Mrinal, who was suffering from old age complications including diabetes, was declared dead at the Evercare Hospital around 2am on Saturday, according to media reports.
He was taken to the hospital due to low sugar and oxygen levels in blood.
Born on September 9, 1958 in Rajshahi, Mrinal was best known for making murals on the city streets of Dhaka.
After receiving education from Rajshahi Cadet College, he joined the Art Institution in 1977 and received his BA (Bachelor of Arts) from the Fine Arts Institute of Dhaka University.
Mrinal Haque worked primarily with clay, marble, plaster, cement, bronze, copper, terracotta and wood. He had done over 36,000 square feet of work in mosaic painting.
