Health Desk- 10 August, 2020: Bangladesh has lost another big star in music world Alauddin Ali.
Alauddin Ali breathed his last around 06:00pm on Sunday at a hospital in the capital. He was 67.
A pall of gloom descended on the cultural arena following the death of the legendary music composer.
The demise of the legendary music director is an irreparable loss to the country.
Eminent cultural personalities of the country, including singers, film directors, producers, lyricists, screenwriters mourn the death of the great artiste. Music director Gazi Mazharul Anwar, singers Syed Abdul Hadi, Khurshid Alam, Runa Laila, Sabina Yasmin, Kumar Bishwajit, Tapan Chowdhury, Fuad Naser Babu, yricist Kabir Bakul, composer and music director Alam Khan, among others, expressed deep shock at the death of Alauddin Ali.
Besides, his well-wishers, co-workers, fans and people from all walks of life paid tributes to the singer.
Alauddin Ali was a prominent music composer of the country. Born in 1952, Alauddin Ali has contributed a lot to Bengali music and culture. He has composed many songs and directed music for more than 300 films.
He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director five times for the films Golapi Ekhon Traine (1978), Sundori (1979), Koshai (1980), Jogajog (1988) and Lakhe Ekta (1990).
He won the Best Music Composer award for the film Laal Doriya (2002) and the Best Lyrics award for Premik (1985).
